Sexy and easy to use. Perfect!
This is a gorgeous book. Dr Jess has done a fantastic job blending technical know-how into an easy-to-follow guide. She starts by breaking down how our bodies work, which is the foundation to great sex! The book is laid out in an inviting way, with FAQs and little blurbs for sex geeks throughout. These little touches make for a fun and informative read. We start with the basics and ramp up to lots and lots of techniques for pleasuring him, pleasuring her, and of course, for pleasuring both. As the chapters go on we add more and more into the mix, including specifics for anal play and adding some kink. The New Sex Bible even goes into keeping the flame alive and overcoming challenges. I highly recommend the book for any single, couple, or more. Great photos. Great ideas. It's a sexy looking book filled with hot, hot content.

A MUST Read for Couples
My husband and I read Dr. Jess's "The New Sex Bible" together. We learned so much more about our bodies and how each of us enjoys pleasure. It has definitely spiced things up in (and out) of the bedroom! We both feel so much more comfortable sharing our desires and pleasing each other than we ever had before!

I instantly felt like Dr. Jess might be reading my mind
I got this book a few weeks prior to my fourth anniversary with my boyfriend. Picked it up, read the listed chapters and flipped all the way to the back: Chapter 9: Keeping the Flame Burning. I instantly felt like Dr. Jess might be reading my mind! The first thing she talks about is boosting your own self esteem and positive affirmations about your body. The truth for me is, over the past few years I have gotten really 'comfortable' in my relationship and 'uncomfortable' with how my body looks and feels during private moments. Dr. Jess says “it takes work to maintain a hot sex life” - I like the idea that you have to work on yourself first. This makes Chapter's 1-8 easy, as you'll find they have the same honesty about sex. It has everything from real questions with answers, beautiful photos, tips, scientific facts and
beyond – think: some very interesting topics explored that you never could of imagined! Like reaching 'new heights' without even touching each...

This specific thing gives surpasses the prospect, this one has turned into a great buy for myself personally, The idea arrived safely and rapidly He's a Stud, She's a Slut, and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know

Double standards are nothing new. Women deal with them every day. Take the common truism that women who sleep around are sluts while men are studs. Why is it that men grow distinguished and sexily gray as they age while women just get saggy and haggard? Have you ever wondered how a young woman is supposed to both virginal and provocatively enticing at the same time? Isn’t it unfair that working moms are labeled “bad” for focusing on their careers while we shake our heads in disbelief when we hear about the occasional stay-at-home dad?

In He's a Stud, She's a Slut, and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know, Jessica Valenti, author of Full Frontal Feminism, calls out the double standards that affect every woman. Whether Jessica is pointing out the wage earning discrepancies between men and women or revealing all of the places that women still aren’t equal to their male counterparts—be it in the workplace, courtroom, bedroom, or home—she maintains her signature wittily sarcastic tone. With sass, humor, and in-your-face facts, this book informs and equips women with the tools they need to combat sexist comments, topple ridiculous stereotypes (girls aren’t good at math?), and end the

Review :
REALLY good stuff!
I'm not being sarcastic at all--I'm a male reader, and I found this book to be REALLY insightful stuff. I also found double-standard #51: that these are double standards that WOMEN should know. Shouldn't men know these too? I mean, I'm trying to raise my two sons with better insights than the blueprint for sexist privilege they are being handed to them every darned DAY, and I want them to see past it. So right there in the title--BAM!--another unintended double-standard. This stuff's just as integral for men to consider.

Jessica Valenti's writing style is snappy, fun to read, and yet very good at disturbing the reader with insights that are dead-on but easily overlooked in our culture. I've followed the feministing website (which Jessica Valenti contributes to) for some time now, and I am constantly fascinated by the sheer amount of research and information that they find. I'm also disheartened by how often her work is dismissed as "thought police" or "hysteria"--but then,...
Not Just For Girls
Despite what you may think, this book doesn't just focus on double standards where women get the short end of the stick. It also talks about the crap these double standards cause men. The only critism I can think of is that #46 "He's Childless, She's Selfish" had a title that was misleading. I thought it was going to talk about how childfree women are considered selfish because apparently having kids is the only way women can contribute to society, society doesn't think twice about childfree men. Instead it talked about how single mothers are "selfish." While I agree what she was talking about there, I thought the title was misleading and she should have touched on childfree women as well.

Tackling the double standard - SPEAK OUT!
I think I finally get it. I think I finally understand what it is about Jessica Valenti in Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters and "He's a Stud" that bugs me.

You know how you go to a party and maybe your friend came in with this loud, obnoxious person? And in order to spend time with your friend (and being an introvert, you hate parties anyway) you must spend time with this obnoxious person? And you realize that everything about you and your friend's companion is opposite and there is NO WAY unless hell freezes over you will be friends? So you stand around, listening politely while the other person shoots off at the mouth, saying things you agree with, but you find yourself almost immediately inwardly opposing?

Well, that's how Valenti and I are. She's got some great ideas, but the way she writes totally grates on me. Little to no research or references, a too-casual approach, tons of f-bombs and lots of goofy, supposedly funny...

This unique thing gives exceeded the anticipation, this has become a wonderfull upgrade on personally, The theory appeared correctly as well as swiftly The Purity Myth: How America's Obsession with Virginity Is Hurting Young Women

The United States is obsessed with virginity — from the media to schools to government agencies. In The Purity Myth, Jessica Valenti argues that the country’s intense focus on chastity is damaging to young women. Through in-depth cultural and social analysis, Valenti reveals that powerful messaging on both extremes — ranging from abstinence-only curriculum to "Girls Gone Wild" infomercials — place a young woman's worth entirely on her sexuality. Morals are therefore linked purely to sexual behavior, rather than values like honesty, kindness, and altruism. Valenti sheds light on the value — and hypocrisy — around the notion that girls remain virgins until they’re married by putting into context the historical question of purity, modern abstinence-only education, pornography, and public punishments for those who dare to have sex. The Purity Myth presents a revolutionary argument that girls and women are overly valued for their sexuality, as well as solutions for a future without a damaging emphasis on virginity.

Review :
I hear her loud and clear!
As the daughter of an Evangelical Christian minister (I often tell people that I cut my teeth on a Scofield Reference Bible) I should be on the defensive about this book. But actually, I found it worthwhile to read.

I grew up believing that virginity was a good thing, but I noticed that most of the burden of being a "virgin" was put on the girl and not on the guy. While many preachers and Bible teachers gave some lip-service to young men to abstain until marriage, I got the impression that pre-marital sex didn't seem to "damage" them us much as it supposedly "damaged" a woman. And the older I got, the more I thought, "If I am not to be 'damaged goods,' then I certainly don't want to marry a 'goods damager.'" You don't even have to be a feminist to know that a woman is not a man's possession. and these chastity and purity rituals that some young women are going through (BTW -- these were not happening when I was a teenager) make my jaw drop.

It seems to me...
Good read for those who already agree
Summary

Jessica Valenti argues in The Purity Myth that the United States is obsessed with virginity. She asserts that those associated with the abstinence movement are perpetuating the virgin/whore dichotomy, which sets up only two kinds of women: one to be admired and emulated and the other to be disgraced and shunned. Valenti opposes the idea that a sexually active woman is "tainted" or "impure" and thereby unworthy, and she protests against the movement's emphasis on chastity, marriage, and parenthood.

She comments, "In this mess of chastity expectations, objectification, and control of women, we have lost a very fundamental truth: Sex is amazing, and there's nothing wrong or dirty or shameful or sinful about it."

In particular, she takes to task:

The abstinence teacher who tells her students that they'll go to jail if they have premarital sex. The well-funded organization that tells girls on college campuses that they should be looking...
Thought Provoking... And Left Me Wanting More
I suppose the fact that this book left me wanting more can be both a positive and negative thing. Overall, this book offers a fresh perspective on why the virginity/chastity/purity movement is harmful to young women. Jessica drives home the point that young women are more than whether or not they've had premarital sex and society/media has done a poor job of acknowledging that, as the stories we hear about women and sexuality often reinforce the virgin/whore dichotomy.

Too often young women are depicted as tainted, unlovable and dirty unless they adhere to a strict model of what the Christian Right deems acceptable sexuality. The book discusses at great length abstinence only sex education classes where girls are being taught that they are like a "used lollipop" if they have sex before marriage, and worse for young women (and men) the book offers evidence that some educators are flat out lying to students. (e.g. exaggerating the failure rates of condoms and discounting or...
