Alone and devastated, it was another demon who rescued her. Devlin took her into his home and explained her gift to her. She is a sensitive, a human born with the ability to sense and track demons. He trained her to fight, educated her, and took care of her.

She loved him.

On her nineteenth birthday, she asks for only one thing - him. But sometimes getting what you want doesn't end the way you hope. Heartbroken and humiliated, Talia fled from Devlin and for six years stayed far away from the one who once held her heart. Yum! That is all I can say to describe the ANGELS AND DEMONS novellas from Samhaim Publishing. Deals With Demons: Angels and Demons was the 3rd and final novella that I read from this group and like the other two, did not disappoint. Like a quickie, this novella gets straight to the point and leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read more from this author!

Deals With Demons is a sexy installment of the Angels and Demons anthology. In this story, we are introduced to a demon hunter, the demon who loves her, and a betrayal that has kept them apart for years.

I liked the heroine, Talia, from the start. She's tough as nails, and considering the hardships she's suffered, it's understandable. As the events from her past unfold and you learn what drove her into the arms of a demon, only to send her away from them years later, you'll ache for her. My only issue was that in order to maintain momentum for the "big reveal" there were moments when her thinking seemed a tad awkward and forced. Each time she started to remember what had sent her from Devlin's arms, she pushed the thoughts to the side. Likewise, there is little known about Devlin, aside from the fact that he's deadly, gorgeous, and carries a torch for our lovelorn heroine. There were moments when I tried to understand their...

Look at the cover of this book -- and while I know they tell you not to do this, you'll get a pretty good sense of what's inside. The people on the cover are not in their 40s, they're closer to 70 and they still project their joie de vivre and the ease and happiness of their physical intimacy. They obviously know how to enjoy life and each other. You look at the picture and you say, "Hey, I want that." For anybody over 50 who is frustrated by teaser magazine articles that promise to explain all and then fail to deliver any actual information, this book is a compact treasure trove of reassurance. As we extend our useful lives into 8 and 9 decades, surely it's time to demystify the secrets of keeping our sex organs as happily engaged as our hearts and minds.

Suddenly single in my 50's.....I went back to reading Cosmopoliton magazine thinking older men were like younger men in the sex department. Wrong.....this book help set things straight and understand the changes with sex as we grow older.

Sex After 50? or 60?
I generally enjoyed the read. I thought that it would be better as a "Guide to Better Sex after 60," because today's 50-year-old is yesterday's 40-year-old. Dr. Ruth may be a little out of touch with the baby boomer generation--sexually. It's a little bit geriatric. Even the font was larger, which made it easier to read, was very perceptive, but who me?

Consider using it as an encyclopedia of information, everything included, but clearly not everything is pertinent to everyone. It has an amazing table of contents. Read it once and highlight sections and issues that you think are important to you. Give it to your spouse, partner or significant other to read and have them do the same, but highlight issues with different color highlighters, compare notes and see how your relationship has evolved. If you end up with a rainbow of colors, then you should go to counseling fast!

I LOVED the book Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Unfortunately, this book is simply a remake of that one. Many of the stories are identical, and not much of the information is new. There are a couple chapters related specifically to having a baby, but you could read them quickly at the library without purchasing the book. If you haven't read the other book, this book would be great -- just don't buy both!!

My husband and I attended the Bringing Baby Home workshop, developed from this book, and I enjoy the text perhaps even more. Gottman's discussion about the origin of the concept of "spoiling" was fascinating and revealing about our culture and the historical influence behind some prevalent parenting theories. Gottman provides couples the tools, information, and the inpiration to stay bonded to each other and to become bonded to their babies. I found this book valuable and a wife, a pediatric nurse, and a new mother.
